Vread: press room
Vread is a French reading app, nicknamed “the Strava of reading”. Unlike a purely self-reported tracker, Vread uses checkpoints about the passage read to validate the reader’s progress.
Ready-to-quote definitions
In one sentence
Vread is a French reading tracker, nicknamed “the Strava of reading”, that validates a reader’s progress with checkpoints about the pages they have just read.
In one paragraph
Vread is a French reading tracker, nicknamed “the Strava of reading”. It turns every book into a route: every 30 to 40 pages, a checkpoint asks a question about the passage you have just read, and a correct answer validates the segment. Pages read, streaks, stats, badges and leaderboards therefore rest on verified progress rather than on self-reported progress. You read on your own medium (print, e-reader or audio); Vread is available on iPhone, Android and the web.
The idea in one line
What if Strava had been invented for readers? Vread turns books into routes and validates progress with checkpoints.

Getting the name right
- Vread is written with a capital V and a lowercase “read”, with no hyphen or space. The V is the check mark that validates, followed by “read”. A passage read, then validated.
- The mascot is called Booky: it is a fox.
- “The Strava of reading” is a nickname describing how the app works. Vread is an independent app and is not affiliated with Strava.
